So for the past few months my blogging has become a lot more sporadic. Some weeks I blog a ton and others not at all. Sometimes I've even gone 2 weeks or so without posting a single blog.
I found myself apologizing every time I'd write a blog after it had been awhile since I last posted but I think this is just plain silly so I won't apologize anymore.
The thing is this blog has grown and changed a lot since I first started blogging, so have my businesses; not to mention all the changes in my personal life.
When I first started blogging many of my blogs were a curation of things that I liked but I don't do that much anymore unless I come across something that is really super cool. It's not that I don't find and see cool stuff almost daily while surfing the web or moving through my day; it's just that I'm simply not inspired to post a blog of things you've probably already seen on Pinterest or some other blog.
I also used to post a lot about "business lessons" but I hardly do that anymore either; mainly because my business is so different these days, (I hardly do any graphic design and instead focus on illustration and my stationery) and partly because I felt like though I had my own insights; those topics were also being discussed in many other places on the web.
The thing is I like to keep this space real and as unique as possible and so sometimes that means I have nothing to blog about for a week or two and that's okay.
I know the blogging powers that be will tell you that if you want to get a lot of blog readers you should blog "consistently" but truth be told many times I am simply too busy creating to blog consistently; or at least to blog about something interesting consistently. Also, I have to be honest and say that I haven't noticed that all so terrifying drop off in readership that so many bloggers seem to be so worried about. Actually quite the opposite, when I do post these days I find I get more views than before; in truth this was not something I expected or thought much about until I started writing this post. I'd like to think that this is because my blogs are more interesting these days. And I hope that it's because you can sense when I now blog it's because I actually have something to share and not just because I feel the need to post consistently because if I don't you won't read my blog anymore.
I don't see my life or work slowing down anytime soon so it's safe to assume that my blog posting will continue to flow organically. I can't promise when I'll post but I can promise that each and every blog will be well thought out and hopefully something you won't see or read elsewhere.
